Chandan Prabhakar is an Indian stand-up comedian and actor who is well known for playing various roles on the Colors TV show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ and Sony TV’s ‘The Kapil Sharma Show.’ Some of his most memorable characters are Jhanda Singh, Harpal Singh (Hawaldar), Chandu, and Raju. He also emerged as the first runner-up in ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge’ season 3. Chandan was born on September 29, 1981, in Amritsar and studied mechanical engineering. After appearing in ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge,’ he decided to switch to comedy. He is the childhood friend of popular stand-up comedian and actor Kapil Sharma and both of them attended the same school in Amritsar. Apart from doing stand-up comedy, Chandan has acted in several Punjabi movies like ‘Power Cut,’ ‘Disco Singh,’ and ‘Judge Singh LLB.’ He has also produced a Punjabi comedy show titled ‘Laughter Da Master,’ which aired on ETC Punjabi. Chandan made his debut as a film writer with the 2017 film ‘Dangar Doctor Jelly.’
