Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting incident at comedian Kapil Sharma's cafe in Surrey, Canada. The suspects, identified as Pardeep Singh and Saveer Khan (both 22), were taken into custody on November 1, reported PTI. They are facing two counts of reckless discharge of a firearm each. The charges come after a year-long investigation by British Columbia's Provincial Extortion Task Force.

The cafe shooting incident occurred on October 16, 2025, when the establishment was closed, but two employees were inside.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
Four days earlier, on October 12, police responded to another shooting at a residence in Surrey's 13000 block of 103A Avenue, where a woman was injured.
The extortion task force took over both investigations after identifying possible links between these attacks.

Chief Superintendent Duncan Pound, a senior officer with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), said the charges were a result of "extensive investigative work."
"We recognize and share the concerns these incidents created within the community," he said in a statement.
"These charges should serve as another clear message to those involved in extortion-related violence that law enforcement is working collaboratively to ensure public safety."

Kap's Cafe had been the target of two shooting incidents before the October 16 attack.
Videos filmed from the perspective of the shooters circulated widely on social media.
