What's the story
Bollywood actor Chitrangda Singh, who is receiving praise for her performance in Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, has opened up about some of the career choices she regrets. Career reflections
Singh's regrets over career choices
Singh admitted to making some "really bad mistakes" in her career. She said, "I made some really bad mistakes. I said no to Anurag Kashyap for the role Richa Chadha portrayed in Gangs of Wasseypur (2012)... (Filmmaker) Aanand L Rai offered me the role Kangana Ranaut did in Tanu Weds Manu (2011), and I said no." "At that time, I listened to too many people and made some bad choices."
Missed chance
Singh's unavailability for 'Chalte Chalte' also led to missed opportunity
Singh also spoke about missing out on Shah Rukh Khan's Chalte Chalte. This wasn't due to a rejection but because she had changed her phone number and taken a break from work. "SRK told me himself when we were shooting an ad together that they were looking for my number. I had left work for seven or eight years. That's when it really hits you," she added.
Industry insights
Singh's thoughts on visibility in the film industry
Singh also discussed the challenge of visibility in the film industry. She said, "It has a very short memory. If you're not around, people forget, and you have to keep reminding them of what you're capable of." Her latest film, Raat Akeli Hai: The Bansal Murders, is currently streaming on Netflix.
