Delhi HC steps in after Pawan Kalyan flags AI-fake videos
Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM and actor Pawan Kalyan went to the Delhi High Court, asking for help against AI-generated videos, impersonation, and fake links using his name.
The court told Google, Meta, and X to treat his plea as an official complaint under IT rules and take action within a week.
Why this matters:
Kalyan's lawyer said fake AI content about him is spreading on Google, Meta, and even e-commerce sites.
The court reminded everyone that you need to try reporting stuff directly to platforms first before coming to court.
Kalyan now has 48 hours to hand over links of the offending content so platforms can respond.
What's next:
The next hearing is set for December 22.
Interestingly, other celebs like Ajay Devgn and Aishwarya Rai have recently gotten similar protection from the Delhi High Court for their personality and publicity rights, amid rising concerns about AI misuse and impersonation online.
