'Worst to perform live, lunatic': Trump attacks Seth Meyers again
What's the story
US President Donald Trump has once again taken aim at late-night television hosts, this time targeting NBC's Seth Meyers. The attack came after Meyers mocked Trump's recent speech to US Navy personnel stationed near Japan on his show Late Night with SethMeyers. In a post on Truth Social, Trump called Meyers "the least talented person to perform live in the history of television," adding, "In fact, he may be the WORST to perform, live or otherwise."

Trump questions why NBC is 'wasting money' on Meyers
In his post, Trump also criticized Meyers's comments about "electric catapults" on aircraft carriers. He wrote, "In it he talked endlessly about electric catapults on aircraft carriers, which I complain about as not being as good as much less expensive steam catapults." "On and on he went, a truly deranged lunatic," Trump added. The president also questioned why NBC was wasting its time and money on someone like Meyers, who he claimed had no talent or ratings.
Comedy bit
Meyers's skit mocked Trump's speech and obsession with loyalty
In the skit, titled "Seth Translates Trump to English," Meyers poked fun at Trump's remarks and his obsession with loyalty. He said, "If anyone dares to say anything less than glowing, Trump loses his s--t." The comedian also highlighted Trump's strange comments about water and magnets and his preference for steam-powered catapults. Although Meyers has yet to respond publicly to Trump's tirade, he reposted the same segment online shortly after the attack.
Previous attacks
Trump has previously attacked Meyers and other late-night hosts
This isn't the first time Trump has attacked Meyers. In January, he called him "Marble Mouth Meyers" and "merely a slot filler for the Scum that runs Comcast." In August, Trump criticized NBC for extending Meyers's contract through 2028, calling him a "dope" with "no ratings, talent, or intelligence." He also celebrated when Jimmy Kimmel's show was briefly suspended after controversial remarks about the killing of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk.
