What's the story

Ayushmann Khurrana, who is gearing up for the release of Dream Girl, is creating quite a buzz through both of his roles (Lokesh and Pooja) in the movie. Maintaining the momentum, the Andhadhun actor posted a video on social media, showing his transformation to Pooja, and it is hilarious. Sharing his experience, he stated, "Dressing up like a female is a task."

Preparation

He used to take 3.5 hours to get ready

The video begins with glimpses from Ayushmann's van, wherein he is seen getting his make-up done for Pooja's role. It was certainly not a cakewalk for him, who used to take almost three and a half hours to get ready before the shoot. Recalling the struggle, Ayushmann stated that while performing with hair-extensions was difficult, he also had to shave his beard regularly.

Experiment

Pooja's character gave Ayushmann an "elbow room" for experiment

However, Ayushmann feels one should go all out for the sake of entertainment. He also highlighted that Pooja's character gave him an "elbow room" to experiment a lot - be it with looks, the latkas-jhatkas or the voice tones. Talking more about voice modulations, he revealed that he had dubbed twice for the female version of his character, in the movie.

Dubbing

He has dubbed 25% of the dialogs in woman's voice

Ayushmann further stated that he gave around ten different takes for Pooja's character, before achieving the legit female voice for the movie. Apparently, he has dubbed 25% of the dialogs in that voice. Well, given the efforts as shown in the video, it will be quite interesting to see how the movie fares at the box office, post its release on September 13.

Upcoming movies

Ayushmann is also working on 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' sequel

Apart from this, Ayushmann is also working on an upcoming sequel to his 2017 release, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.
