An insider told the portal, "Awarapan 2 has shaped up well as a musical, intense love story with Emraan Hashmi and Disha Patani." The source added, "The makers were considering several release dates, and have finally decided on Independence Day weekend." The film is currently in production and is expected to wrap up by the end of April. After two months of post-production work, it will come out during the holiday period of Independence Day.
