Divya Dutta is an Indian film actor born on September 25, 1977, in Ludhiana, Punjab. Her debut in Bollywood was with the 1994 film ‘Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein.’ But it was the 1999 Punjabi film ‘Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh,’ where she played the role of a Muslim wife, Zainab, which gave her recognition. She bagged the National Film Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role in ‘Irada’ (2017). Dutta also received the IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Jalebi in the 2009 film ‘Delhi-6.’ She is also the author of a memoir titled ‘Me and Ma.’ Apart from Bollywood films, she has also acted in several Punjabi, English, and Malayalam movies. Her debut in short films was with ‘Plus Minus.’ Her first TV series was a 2005 Hindi sitcom named ‘Shanno Ki Shaadi,’ where she played the lead role of Shanno.
