Sakshi Tanwar is an actress in Bollywood and the Indian television industry. In college, she was the secretary and president of the dramatic society. In 1998, she made her television debut as the presenter of the Doordarshan program 'Albela Sur Mela'. She was roped in to play the lead role in 'Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii' (2000-08) as Parvati Agarwal, which gained her immense popularity in the industry. She was selected to play 'Priya Kapoor' in the show 'Bade Achhe Lagte Hain' in 2011. Tanwar became one of the most popular actresses in the television industry. Though she started appearing in movies in 2006, it was the role of Geeta and Babita's mother in the 2016 film 'Dangal' that has garnered recognition. In 2021, the actress was paired with Manoj Bajpayee and Neena Gupta for the thriller film 'Dial 100'.
