Abhay Singh Deol is an Indian actor and producer born on March 15, 1976, and the nephew of veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra. He made his onscreen debut with Imtiaz Ali's rom-com named 'Socha Na Tha' in 2005. His performance in the 2007 film 'Manorama Six Feet Under' earned him the Best Actor Award at the Indo-American Arts Council Film Festival. Deol is also the owner of the production company named Forbidden Films, which was established in 2009. He is a strong supporter of Indian parallel cinema and is often portrayed as a nonconformist or an unconventional actor by Indian media. He's known for portraying complex characters onscreen, and his breakthrough role came in 2009 with the lead role of Dev in the black comedy 'Dev.D'. Also, his performance in Zoya Akhtar's 2011 film 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' earned him a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. Deol was also featured on the list of 'Zoom's "50 Most Desirable Hotties" in 2009. Some of his major films include 'Chakravyuh', 'Raanjhanaa', 'Road, Movie', and 'Shanghai', among others.
