Dev D was a modern adaptation of Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic Bengali novel Devdas. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film featured Deol as Dev, Gill as Paro, and Koechlin as Chanda. Nawazuddin Siddiqui also made an appearance in the song Emosanal Attyachar.
