Jasprit Bumrah: News
A unique and unorthodox action, a release point that makes it hard for the batsmen to read the deliver, and an uncanny ability to be economical, especially at the death overs. These are some ways to describe the Gujarat-born Indian fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, but they don't even begin to cover his importance to the Indian team since his debut. Bumrah made his first-class debut for Gujarat in 2013 against Vidarbha. It was, however, his performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL) that caught everyone's attention. He took three wickets in his IPL debut match in 2013. Impressive performances in the domestic circuit and the IPL finally led to an international call-up. Bumrah made his international debut in an ODI against Australia in 2016; he made his T20I debut the same year. Bumrah's ability to bowl yorkers at the end and his slow ball variations made him an instantaneous hit in the limited-overs team. In an ODI series against Sri Lanka in 2017, he took 15 wickets, which is the most by a fast bowler in an ODI series with five or fewer matches. Bumrah's Test debut came in 2018. He was part of ICC's World Test XI and ODI XI for 2018.
