Adele's diamond ring at 42nd BRIT Awards sparks engagement rumors
Is Adele engaged to sports agent Rich Paul? She was spotted wearing a Lorraine Schwartz diamond ring at the 42nd BRIT Awards, leading to this burning question. This comes days after she quashed break-up rumors on Instagram. Adele also won the British Album of the Year, British Artist of the Year, and Best British Song at the BRIT Awards, thus officially conquering the ceremony.
At the awards ceremony, which was held on January 8 at The O2, a multi-purpose indoor arena, Adele wore a black, custom velvet Armani Privé gown. The dress had a train and dotted tulle neckline. Styled by Jamie Mizrahi, the look was completed by a pair of dangling earrings and the pear-shaped ring, which Adele wore just above her Paradise tattoo.
While we wait for a confirmation, let us revisit Adele-Paul's relationship timeline. The secretive couple made their first public appearance last July and after three months, Adele told Vogue UK about their relationship, her first such interview after she started seeing Paul. "I didn't mean to go public...just wanted to go to the game. I just love being around him," she had said then.
Then in November last year, on One Night Only special on CBS with Oprah Winfrey, Adele was a bit more giving about Paul and their relationship. "He's just hilarious. And very smart. You know, he's very, very smart. It's quite incredible watching him do what he does," she had gushed then, adding that her relationship with Paul is the "easiest and incredible."
If the rumors are true, this will be Adele's second serious relationship. She was earlier married to charity entrepreneur Simon Konecki, with whom she has a son, Angelo James. They had wed in 2018 and divorced last year. Meanwhile, this will be Paul's first engagement.
Coming back to the BRIT Awards, Adele returned to its red carpet after five years. She was the most nominated artist, along with Ed Sheeran (nominated for Best Song, Best British Album, Pop/R&B Act, and Best Artist), Dave, and Little Simz. While Little Simz won the Best New Artist, Sheeran was the Songwriter of the Year, and Dave won the Best Hip Hop/Grime/Rap Act.
