However, director Rohit Shetty and lead actor Ajay Devgn were keen on signing her. "Even Kareena expressed the desire to return to the Golmaal franchise," a source told the portal.

Earlier, Variety India reported that Akshay Kumar will join the movie as the chief antagonist, marking his entry into this successful franchise.
