Expectations high: Selvaraj's previous offering 'Karnan' opened to massive response

After debuting as a director with Pariyerum Perumal in 2018, Selvaraj next gave us Karnan in April 2021. Focused around the volatile topic of caste-based discrimination and human rights violation, the film worked like magic onscreen, despite getting a release in a COVID-19-impacted environment. Apart from Dhanush, the film also starred Rajisha Vijaya, Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli, Gouri Kishan, Lal, and Yogi Babu.
