Mari Selvaraj's 'Maamannan' unites Fahadh Faasil, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthy Suresh
Acclaimed filmmaker Mari Selvaraj has finalized his next project, titled Maamannan. The Tamil venture was announced on Friday along with a dark and mysterious poster. It will feature stellar actors like Fahadh Faasil, Udhayanidhi Stalin, Keerthy Suresh, and Vadivelu, with Academy Award-winning music composer AR Rahman helming the music. Notably, Selvaraj's last movie was the superhit Karnan (2021), headlined by Dhanush.
Sharing the film's posters online, Suresh expressed gratitude for getting the chance to work with such a talented cast and crew. "I am super grateful to work with such a brilliant team, starting from the revolutionary @mari_selvaraj sir, Namma @Udhaystalin sir, Nammude #FahadhFaasil, the one [and] only #VaigaiPuyal #Vadivelu sir, blessed to be working with the legendary @arrahman sir once again," she posted.

While the official announcement came Friday, Faasil's participation in Selvaraj's next was rumored for a while now. The speculations began after the Vikram star was spotted at Stalin's house a few days ago along with Selvaraj. He also wished the actor-producer's father and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on his birthday. We are yet to know the plot details of Maamannan though.
After debuting as a director with Pariyerum Perumal in 2018, Selvaraj next gave us Karnan in April 2021. Focused around the volatile topic of caste-based discrimination and human rights violation, the film worked like magic onscreen, despite getting a release in a COVID-19-impacted environment. Apart from Dhanush, the film also starred Rajisha Vijaya, Lakshmipriyaa Chandramouli, Gouri Kishan, Lal, and Yogi Babu.
