What's the story

Jeremy Renner's attorney has denied reports of a "peaceful resolution" with Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou amid her allegations of misconduct against the actor. Earlier, Zhou had told TMZ that she and the Marvel star had reached a "mutually respectful resolution" to their conflict. However, Renner's attorney Marty Singer has now refuted these claims and accused Zhou of misrepresenting the situation. Renner and Zhou worked together on Master of Cinema 2: Chronicles of Disney and Stardust Future: Stars and Scars.

Statement

'No deal reached with Yi Zhou': Renner's attorney

Singer told TMZ, "There was no deal reached with Yi Zhou to resolve my client Jeremy Renner's substantial multi-million dollar claims against her." He added, "I have no knowledge why Yi Zhou would fabricate a story that a deal has been made with her since she was notified that there was no deal with her, including her use of Jeremy Renner in an animated movie when he only agreed to be in a documentary."

Counterstatement

Zhou's response to Renner's attorney's statement

Zhou took to Instagram to respond to Renner's attorney's statement. She wrote, "I have understood the counterparty was okay with the discussions we had, but it seems they force me to retract my statements from past weeks, which I am not willing to." "I am willing to offer peace for all of us and forgiveness and move on. We can't be forced to retract what we don't wish to retract as they are the truth I experienced."

Allegations

Zhou's allegations against Renner and his denial

On November 7, Zhou had alleged on Instagram that Renner sent her "a string of unwanted/unsolicited pornographic images of himself." She has also alleged that Renner threatened to call immigration authorities when she confronted him. She said they dated for a while and even posted several photos to support her claim. Renner denied the allegations, calling them "totally inaccurate and untrue."

Zhou's allegations

The filmmaker has been sharing her side on Instagram

In one of her many explosive posts, Zhou wrote, "We have enough evidence I posted yesterday also of other females to show [his] pattern." "The purpose of these conversations is to show that we need to have respect for women, even during intercourse." In another post, she wrote, "My team and I have all suffered." "For the people saying the screenshots of convos are AI: sorry, it would be ILLEGAL to produce AI screenshots...it would be falsifying documents."
