What's the story

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has cleared the much-awaited action entertainer Akhanda 2: Thaandavam, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna. The film has been given a U/A certificate and will be released on December 5. The production house, 14 Reels Plus, confirmed this news on social media on Sunday. They wrote, "U/A for #Akhanda2. The Thaandavam shall rule the world from December 5th." The movie is directed by Boyapati Sreenu.

Teaser release

'Akhanda 2' teaser hints at Balakrishna's divine role

The announcement of the film's clearance came shortly after the release of a new teaser. The teaser shows enemies conspiring against India, followed by Balakrishna dressed as a sadhu saying, "Where there is a bad, parallelly, there is a God! Be brave." The clip reinforces what was shown in the trailer: Balakrishna has an inner divine force and battles powerful black magic sorcerers who assist India's enemies. The film is 166 minutes (2 hours and 44 minutes) long, per IANS.

Sequel details

'Akhanda 2' is a sequel to the hit film

The film features Samyuktha as the female lead, with Aadhi Pinisetty and Harshali Malhotra playing key roles. The cinematography is by C Ramprasad and Santoshh D Detakae. Tammiraju is the editor, while AS Prakash is the art director. The music is by S Thaman. The sequel promises to be a grand cinematic spectacle with a larger-than-life narrative.

Balakrishna's request to fans

Balakrishna urged fans not to behead goats to celebrate film

Speaking at a promotional event recently, Balakrishna urged his fans not to perform animal sacrifice to celebrate his film's release. He said, "I must tell you something. Every region has its traditions, with some of you beheading goats during movie releases. Please don't do that." Balakrishna's request comes after five of his fans reportedly beheaded a goat to celebrate Daaku Maharaaj's release earlier this year. A case was subsequently filed against them.
