Pulitzer Prize winner's son faces rape charges
Abraham Chabon, 20, son of authors Michael Chabon and Ayelet Waldman, has been charged with first-degree rape and second-degree strangulation after an alleged assault on January 25, 2024.
Prosecutors say he choked and beat a woman until she couldn't breathe, then raped her—causing injuries that included loss of vision in one eye.

Abraham is an NYU student
Abraham, a New York University student, has appeared in court twice so far.
He was released on $45,000 cash bail (or $150,000 bond), with his mother by his side during the hearing.

The case is ongoing.
