PVR Inox boosts revenue with film re-releases

PVR Inox is giving classic movies a fresh run in theaters, and it's paying off—these re-releases now bring in about 8.5% of the company's total revenue.
With nearly 300 films like Jab We Met and regional favorites back on the big screen, both longtime fans and new viewers are showing up.
A recent highlight: the restored 1981 film Umrao Jaan, brought back with help from the NFDC.

TL;DR

Classic cinema, modern conveniences

What started as a post-pandemic boost has turned into a core part of PVR Inox's game plan.
Alongside these throwback screenings, they're trying out new business models like FOCO (franchise-owned, company-operated) in select cities—where mall owners handle costs—and teaming up with Zomato for food delivery at theaters.
It's all about blending old-school cinema vibes with modern conveniences to stay ahead.
