Reportedly, the makers have pinned high hopes on the film and are planning a grand climax for this installment. Here's more.
While the news of Don 3 title being finalized got the fans excited, it also left them a little disappointed. That's because as the names implies, the third installment will also mark the end of the popular franchise. Notably, the franchise, initiated in 2006, was the remake of Amitabh Bachchan's 1978 film Don. The 2006 film was followed by a sequel in 2011.
Though reports to end the Don franchise struck a heavy chord with the audience, the makers are adamant to end it with an incredible climax instead of dragging it further. Interestingly, Farhan Akhtar, who directed the Don franchise, will also have an appearance in the movie and will play the role of a cop in Don: The Final Chapter. The reports further suggested that the makers have also finalized most of the cast of the movie. However, they are still hunting for the female lead to replace Priyanka Chopra opposite SRK in the movie.
Shah Rukh and Farhan are quite excited to begin shooting for Don: The Final Chapter. "Shah Rukh Khan and Excel Entertainment have finally locked on to the script," the source added. If the media reports are to be believed, the much-awaited third installment of the franchise will be hitting the floors in mid-2019, and is likely to be released in 2020.
