What's the story

Actor Swara Bhasker has recently hit back at online trolls who slammed her for adopting a "conservative" wardrobe after marrying Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Fahad Ahmad. The row started when a meme went viral on social media, juxtaposing a pre-marriage glamorous photo of Bhasker with a post-marriage image where she was spotted in traditional attire. The actor shared more pictures of herself in Western outfits post-marriage, saying she didn't realize her wardrobe choices had become "a national cyber debate."

Defending spouse

Bhasker defended her husband against stereotyping

In her response to the trolls, Bhasker also defended her husband Ahmad. "I'm sorry @FahadZirarAhmad doesn't fit your stereotype of a conservative Muslim husband. Lol!" she wrote. This was in light of the criticism she faced for her wardrobe choices post-marriage, which some netizens attributed to Ahmad's influence because of his religious background. Earlier, the Raanjhanaa actor had to deal with news articles discussing her post-pregnancy weight gain, too.
