Director Tigmanshu Dhulia shares update on K Asif biopic
What's the story
Acclaimed filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia is occupied with his next project, Woh Phir Kabhi Dikha Nahi. He is also working on a long-gestating biopic of late filmmaker K Asif. In an interview with Mid-Day, he revealed that he has written 100 scenes so far. The focus will be on Asif's personal life rather than the grandeur of his epic masterpiece Mughal-e-Azam (1960). "This film is not about opulence. It talks about Asif as a person. It's personal in nature," Dhulia revealed.

Dhulia on the film's delay
Dhulia said that the film is taking as much time as Mughal-e-Azam took to get made.
The classic famously took 12 years to finish.
"Ghar bhi chalana hota hai. So, when some projects come my way, I have to halt the process of writing the film," Dhulia explained.
"I have finally reached the point when the shoot of Mughal-e-Azam starts."
The biopic was announced in 2024.
