The film has defied the predictions by trade experts
Trade experts had their doubts about the film's business in China as it revolves around a rural issue. They did not think that it had the mass appeal to attract the Chinese audience. However, the figures tell a different story.
'Toilet Ek Prem Katha' is Akshay's biggest hit till date
The Shree Narayan Singh directorial is Khiladi Kumar's highest grosser ever. It had raked in Rs. 134.22 crore upon its release in India in 2017. It is the fifth Indian film to hit the Chinese screens this year after 'Secret Superstar', 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan', 'Hindi Medium' and 'Baahubali 2'.
