Kota: Child actor Veer Sharma, brother die in apartment fire
What's the story
In a tragic incident, child television actor Veer Sharma (10), who appeared in Shrimad Ramayan and Veer Hanuman, died in a fire at his home in Kota early Sunday morning. His elder brother, Shaurya Sharma, also lost his life in the incident. The two were reportedly alone at their fourth-floor apartment when the fire broke out around 2:00am, causing thick smoke to fill the space and suffocate them.
Cause of fire
Short circuit suspected to be cause of fire
The fire reportedly started in their drawing room, but did not spread to other rooms. Superintendent of Police Tejeshwani Goutam said a short circuit likely caused the fire. The boys were taken to a nearby hospital but were sadly declared dead on arrival. An FIR has been registered under Section 194 of the BNSS Act, and an investigation is underway to find out the exact cause of the incident.
Rescue efforts
Neighbors tried to rescue the boys
Neighbors noticed smoke coming out of the apartment and quickly rushed to help. They broke down the door and tried to pull the children out. The children's father, Jitendra Sharma, a teacher at a Kota coaching institute, was attending a bhajan program when the tragic incident occurred. Meanwhile, their mother, actor Rita Sharma, was in Mumbai.
