What's the story
Dulquer Salmaan's latest Tamil period drama Kaantha, which hit theaters on Friday, will be available on Netflix after its theatrical run. The streaming giant confirmed the acquisition earlier this year. The movie is expected to stream in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. However, an official date for the OTT release has yet to be announced by either the makers or Netflix.

Set in 1950s Madras, Kaantha explores the complex relationship between Ayya (Samuthirakani), a respected filmmaker, and T.K. Mahadevan (Salmaan), a rising actor. The film's central conflict arises when Mahadevan starts changing the tone and direction of a film to suit his stardom. The ensemble cast also features Bhagyashri Borse, Rana Daggubati, Ravindra Vijay, Nizhalgal Ravi, and Bagavathi Perumal, among others.
