What's the story

Indian security agencies have achieved a breakthrough by arresting two of the country's most wanted gangsters. Venkatesh Garg was nabbed in Georgia, and Bhanu Rana was arrested in the United States. Both fugitives will soon be deported to India. The arrests are significant as over two dozen major Indian gangsters are currently operating from abroad, running criminal syndicates and recruiting members for their operations.

Criminal background

Garg was involved in murder of a BSP leader

Garg, a resident of Haryana's Narayangarh, has over 10 criminal cases registered against him in India. He was involved in the murder of a Bahujan Samaj Party leader in Gurugram before fleeing to Georgia. In Georgia, he continued his criminal activities by recruiting youth from Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and other North Indian states for his extortion syndicate with Kapil Sangwan.

Gang affiliation

Rana is linked to Lawrence Bishnoi gang

Rana, on the other hand, has been living in the US for a considerable time and is linked to the infamous Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Originally from Karnal, he has an extensive criminal network across Haryana, Punjab, and Delhi. His name had come up during investigations into a grenade attack in Punjab earlier this year.
