  • The Indian Railways has suffered yet another train derailment.

    On Wednesday morning, three coaches of a goods train got derailed near Mathura.

    No casualties were reported from the incident but the movement of other trains on the route was impacted.

    The concerned officials have been summoned by the railway administration, which said strict action will be taken if anyone is found guilty.

  • On September 27, 16 bogies of a goods train derailed in Odisha's Cuttack district near Nergundi station. This caused several trains traveling on the route to be canceled.

    On September 26, the Duronto Express, Hatia-Anand Vihar Express, and Mahabodhi Express were all found to be traveling on the same railway track near Allahabad, UP.

  • On August 19, 20 people died after the Puri-Haridwar Utkal Express derailment in UP. This prompted Railway Board Chairman A K Mital to resign from his post.

    Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu was replaced by Piyush Goyal due to the frequent train accidents.

    On September 7, days after Goyal took charge as railway minister, three train derailments took place within hours of each other.
