Ahmedabad crash: Air India plane's engines recovered

After the devastating crash of an Air India flight in Ahmedabad on June 12, recovery teams have managed to pull out the plane's right engine.
It was found trapped under a huge concrete water tank that got pushed more than 20 feet by the impact.

TL;DR

Two massive cranes were used to lift the engine

Getting the engine out wasn't easy—it took two massive cranes and some careful planning.
All parts from the crash are now at GUJSAIL's airport hangar, where investigators are piecing together what went wrong.

Crash killed 260 people

The crash claimed 260 lives—241 passengers and crew, plus 19 people on the ground.
Both engines were checked recently and seemed fine before flying.
Figuring out exactly why this tragedy occurred depends a lot on analyzing these recovered engines.
