Ahmedabad: Men disrupt garba event, beat up organizers
India
A festive garba event in Ahmedabad's Bopal area was disrupted late on September 26 when a group of men allegedly barged into the venue without passes.
Things escalated quickly—organizers were attacked, decorations were trashed, and at least two organizers ended up injured.
One of the organizers filed a police complaint following the incident.
5 suspects have been booked
The trouble started around midnight, with the group first trying to climb over the boundary wall.
After being turned away, they came back with more people and demanded the event be stopped, then assaulted organizers using metal rods.
Police have now identified and booked five suspects for rioting and unlawful assembly under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
