The final report on the tragic Air India crash from June 12 is expected by the end of this year.
The accident happened when a Boeing 787-8 hit a building just after taking off from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, leading to the loss of 260 lives—including 19 people on the ground.
Out of 242 people onboard, only one survived.
Early findings shared by AAIB
The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has shared some early findings. According to civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu, the report may take another four to five months.
After the crash, all Air India Boeing 787s were checked for safety issues—thankfully, nothing major turned up.
A high-level committee is also still reviewing airline safety protocols to help prevent anything like this in the future.
