Air India reduces international flights post-crash
After the tragic crash of flight AI171 in Ahmedabad on June 12, Air India has cut its international widebody flights by 15%.
This affects Boeing 787 and 777 routes, with changes starting June 20 and expected to last until mid-July.
The move comes as the airline deals with the aftermath of the crash, plus added challenges from Middle East tensions and night flying restrictions in Europe and East Asia.
Air India is stepping up safety inspections
Air India is stepping up safety inspections—doing one-time checks on all Boeing 777s and extra reviews for its Dreamliners.
Out of 33 Dreamliners, 26 have already passed DGCA inspection.
Chairman N Chandrasekaran shared that the crashed plane had a solid maintenance record with recent engine servicing, adding that both pilots and aircraft were in top shape before takeoff.
