Bengaluru to get India's 1st double-decker road-metro corridor

India

Bengaluru's infamous traffic might finally get some relief. BMRCL has proposed a 37km double-decker corridor with cars on the lower level and Metro trains running above.
In a recent survey, 90% of locals gave it a thumbs up, showing just how much the city wants better transit options.

Stretch will link JP Nagar 4th Phase to Hebbal

The new stretch will link JP Nagar 4th Phase to Hebbal and Hosahalli to Kadabagere, connecting major routes across town.
With a budget of nearly ₹9,700 crore (including land costs), the project aims to cut travel times and make commuting smoother.
The design—based on lessons from an earlier pilot—features four lanes for vehicles at up to 80km/h, plus easy-access ramps, setting the stage for smarter urban transport in India.
