Bengaluru Traffic Police issue advisory for Christmas celebrations
Heads up if you're out in Bengaluru for Christmas!
The city's traffic police have rolled out special plans for December 24 and 25 to handle big crowds at Holy Ghost Church in Pulakeshinagar and the busy mall zones in Mahadevapura.
Expect road closures, reroutes, and set pick-up spots to help everyone move around smoothly.
What's changing near Holy Ghost Church?
Davis Road will be closed from 7pm on December 24 until noon on December 25 between the John Armstrong Road junction and the Cookson Road junction.
If you're driving, you'll need to detour via John Armstrong, Viviani Road, and Cookson Road toward HM Road.
Parking is off-limits on Davis Road, Banasawadi Main Road, Wheeler's Road, St John's Church Road, Hains Road, and Promenade Road—so plan ahead!
Mall zone traffic hacks in Mahadevapura
Mall areas are expected to get super busy from noon till late night on Christmas Eve.
Parking is restricted along ITPL Main Road (between Shell Petrol Bunk-Garudacharpalya and Medicare Hospital-Big Bazaar Junction).
For smoother rides: use Phoenix Mall drop-off near BESCOM office or Nexus Shantiniketan drop-off at Rajapalya; pick-ups are set at Lowry Junction or Aster Hospital.
Coming from Hoodi or KR Puram?
If you're heading into the malls from Hoodi or KR Puram, take the Shell Petrol Bunk/railway-parallel route to access rear gates—this should save you some time in traffic.
Police recommend using public transport where possible and following their directions for a stress-free festive outing.
