Top 8 food items for healthy hair growth

Everyone desires strong, healthy, and dandruff-free hair. However, unfortunately, healthy hair growth is not a cakewalk. One has to take good care of their hair to achieve and maintain decent hair health in the long run. Diet is one of the most important factors for hair growth. Here are 8 food items to help you grow healthy, long, and dandruff-free hair.

    Eggs and Chickpeas

Eggs: Eggs are packed with a vitamin called Biotin, lack of which contributes to loss of hair and deterioration of hair quality. Thus, consumption of eggs can help beautify and improve healthy hair growth. Chickpeas: A favorite Indian dish and salad addition, chickpeas are packed with essential nutrients, mainly Vitamin B6 and zinc, that are both crucial for fighting dandruff.

    Ginger and Garlic

Ginger: Loaded with antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, ginger can help fight irritable flakes on your scalp. Additionally, ginger is also good for digestion and immunity. Garlic: High in allicin, a natural anti-fungal compound, garlic works as an amazing dandruff treatment food. You can either add it to your food while cooking, or prepare a paste to apply on the scalp.

    Oatmeal and Sweet potatoes

Oatmeal: Rich in iron, fiber, zinc, Omega-3 fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids, Oatmeal is great for healthy hair health. It is known to improve hair growth, strength, and thickness. Sweet potato: Beta-carotene in Sweet potato is great for boosting hair health. It helps protect your hair from dryness and dullness. So, increase your intake of sweet potato, to witness results.

    Apples and Bananas

Apples: Apples are great for helping you stay away from the risk of dandruff. Just munch some on the go, add to salads, or apply some apple juice on your scalp, to keep your hair healthy. Bananas: Loaded with Vitamins B6, A, C, E and zinc, potassium, iron, amino acids and antioxidants, bananas help fight dandruff and maintain your hair health.
