Bhopal boy dies by suicide after playing online game
Ansh Sahu, a 14-year-old reported variously as Class 8 and Class 9 student from Bhopal, died by suicide at his home on Monday.
His parents, both teachers, found him unresponsive after returning from a family ceremony.
No suicide note was found.
Family links death to gaming addiction
Ansh's family believes his addiction to the online game Free Fire played a role in his death.
They mentioned he had been scolded that day for gaming and around ₹28,000 was deducted from his grandfather's bank account in connection with the game.
The family had already taken away his phone, worried about how gaming was affecting him.
Police are now examining Ansh's phone for clues about online challenges or chats linked to the incident.
Meanwhile, relatives and neighbors have called for action against the game and its developers.
