Case filed against MP Congress chief Jitendra Patwari
Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitendra Patwari has been booked for allegedly paying a villager, Gajraj Lodhi, to falsely accuse a local sarpanch of forcing him to eat human excreta.
Lodhi later admitted in an affidavit that he made up the story under pressure from Patwari and other Congress leaders.
Police say the allegations were fabricated and have charged Patwari under various sections.

The issue started when Patwari posted a video featuring Lodhi's claims and criticized the BJP-led government for its treatment of marginalized groups.
After Lodhi confessed he was pressured into lying, police registered a case against Patwari and his aides.
Patwari has said he welcomes the investigation and will keep speaking up for oppressed communities.
The probe is ongoing as authorities look for more evidence about possible bribery and fake accusations.
