CBSE clarifies QR codes on board exam papers used internally
India
CBSE has set the record straight: those QR codes on board exam papers are just for internal checks, not secret web links.
This follows some viral claims, like influencer Orhan Awatramani saying a history paper's QR code sent him to his own page, and rumors about a math paper linking to a Rick Astley video.
Turns out, none of that is true.
CBSE controller warns against QR rumors
CBSE's controller of examinations, Dr. Sanyam Bhardwaj, explained that scanning these QR codes might display the text they contain, but if you Google it, you could get unrelated results—which can be confusing.
He urged everyone to trust only official updates and not spread rumors.
The board also warned that making up stories about these codes can mess with the credibility of exams.
