Chhattisgarh poll officer attacked during voter list update

India

A booth-level officer (BLO) in Raipur was assaulted while updating the voter list as part of a special revision drive.
The incident happened when a woman, upset that her verification form hadn't arrived at home, verbally abused and then physically attacked the officer—raising real concerns about BLO safety during these door-to-door checks.

Viral video sparks bigger worries

A video of the assault quickly spread online, even showing the woman slapping someone who tried to help.
No police report has been filed so far.
This comes as many BLOs face growing hostility on the job, and former MLA Manish Kunjam is now asking the Supreme Court to make sure tribal voters in Bastar aren't left out due to problems with this process.
