Chhattisgarh schools now keeping an eye on stray dogs and cattle
Chhattisgarh's Education Department just rolled out new rules to keep stray dogs and cattle away from school campuses.
This comes after a Supreme Court push and a recent incident where a stray dog spoiled food that was being prepared for midday meals, costing the government approximately ₹22 lakh.
Now, principals have to regularly report any animal sightings so action can be taken quickly.
Why does it matter?
Stray animals near schools aren't just a distraction—they can bite students or contaminate food, putting everyone's health at risk.
The state has appointed nodal officers to handle the situation, and teachers are making sure entry and exit points are safe.
Plus, if any student is bitten by a dog, immediate medical care is now mandatory. All these steps aim to make school a safer place for everyone.
