Rohit, who proved he was Congress-leader ND Tiwari's son, dies

Rohit Shekhar Tiwari, the son of late Congress leader Narayan Dutt Tiwari, was pronounced dead on arrival at a Delhi hospital on Tuesday. According to reports, Rohit was brought to Saket's Max Hospital in New Delhi, from his house in Defense Colony. After the unnatural death, police launched an investigation to ascertain the cause of his death. Here's what happened.

Hospital said autopsy would be conducted if family wants

A statement of Max Hospital revealed they received an emergency call at 4:41 PM on Tuesday. "An ambulance brought Mr. Tiwari to Max Hospital, Saket, where he was declared 'brought dead' at the hospital emergency," the statement added. The hospital authorities said an autopsy would be conducted if the family members demand. Notably, Rohit left for Delhi from Haldwani on Monday.

Family thinks his death was natural

Years ago, Rohit filed paternity suit and won

In 2007, Rohit had filed a paternity suit claiming that the former Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand Chief Minister was his biological father. Seven years later, Delhi High Court passed a verdict in Rohit's favor and injuncted Tiwari for not accepting him as his son. Later, Tiwari held a press conference, in which he broke down, and accepted Rohit as his son.

Rohit's cousin said he was planning to join Congress

In 2017, Rohit and his father joined BJP. The senior leader died a year later. Reports claimed Rohit came to Delhi to join Congress. His paternal cousin Deepak Balutia said, "He told me about his talks with senior Congress leaders about joining the party." Notably, Rohit got married last year and was due to celebrate his first marriage anniversary in May this year.

Reportedly, cops found blood stains on Rohit's pillow

Rohit was sleeping in his room when his wife Apoorva found him unresponsive. His hands and feet had reportedly turned cold. Subsequently, she informed the house help and the hospital was alerted. According to TOI, cops discovered blood stains on the pillow on which Rohit was sleeping. A lawyer by profession, Rohit worked as an adviser to former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav.
