Congress uses lawyer's selfie to claim voter fraud for BJP
A selfie posted by Pune-based lawyer Urrmi, showing her inked finger with the caption "Voted for a Modi-fied India. Jaai ke Vote daali, Bihar," went viral during the Bihar Assembly elections and quickly became political fuel.
Congress jumped on the photo to claim it's proof of people voting in more than one state, pointing to possible voter fraud favoring the ruling party.
This follows Rahul Gandhi's earlier concerns about similar issues in Haryana.
Selfie was meant to encourage Bihar voters, says Urrmi
Congress and its allies used the selfie to call out BJP for alleged election manipulation, with some leaders even poking fun at the idea of cross-state voting.
But Urrmi cleared things up on X (formerly Twitter), saying she actually voted in Maharashtra and just wanted to encourage people in Bihar to vote—not spark controversy.
She feels her post has been misunderstood.
