Cyclone Ditwah: 400 Indians airlifted from Sri Lanka
Cyclone Ditwah hit Sri Lanka hard, and the Indian High Commission stepped in to help.
On Sunday, 400 Indians stranded at Colombo airport were flown out—150 to Delhi and 250 to Trivandrum—using military planes that had just delivered aid.
The Indian High Commission, led by Acting High Commissioner Dr. Satyanjal Pandey, ensured stranded Indians received support, including food and water.
What's happening on the ground
Cyclone Ditwah has caused major damage in Sri Lanka, with over 200 people dead and many still missing after floods and landslides. The country is under a state of emergency.
With the cyclone moving toward India, there's now a red alert for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coasts, and an NDRF team has been sent to Andhra Pradesh as a precaution.
If you're stuck or need help, Indian authorities are urging people to reach out via emergency contacts.
