During this confrontation, Balamurugan allegedly took out a concealed sickle and attacked Sri Priya, killing her instantly. After committing the crime, he sat beside her body until the police arrived at the scene.

The Rathnapuri Police have arrested Balamurugan, and an investigation into the case is currently underway.
