The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a cyclone alert for Maharashtra as Cyclone "Shakhti" intensifies over the Arabian Sea. The storm is currently located around 580km west of Dwarka and 510km southwest of Karachi, moving toward the northwest Arabian Sea. The IMD predicts that Cyclone "Shakhti" will change course east-northeast from October 6 and gradually weaken. Wind speeds are expected to reach 45-55km/h, with gusts up to 65km/h.

In Delhi, thunderstorms with rain are likely to occur from Sunday till October 7, with temperatures hovering between 24°C and 32°C during this period.

Meanwhile, sub-Himalayan West Bengal is also on high alert with a well-marked low-pressure area bringing heavy to very heavy rainfall till Monday morning. The IMD has issued a red warning for Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, and Alipurduar districts. Light to moderate rainfall is likely at most places in these districts till Monday morning.
