Delhi enforces fuel ban on aged vehicles
Starting today, Delhi has stopped fuel supply to diesel vehicles over 10 years old and petrol vehicles over 15 years old.
It's a big move to fight air pollution, led by the city's air quality commission with help from the police and transport officials.
TL;DR
How the rule will be implemented
At 350 petrol stations, police and civic staff will make sure older vehicles don't get refueled.
Stations have to keep records when they turn away non-compliant cars, put up clear signs about the rule, and use cameras to document details.
If someone tries to dodge the ban, violations will be reported and fines handed out under existing motor vehicle laws.
