Delhi's air quality enters "severe zone" post Diwali

Air pollution in Delhi has reached hazardous levels, especially after Diwali. Even the Supreme Court's ban on the sale of firecrackers in the national capital didn't stop people from bursting them. On 20 October, Delhi's air-quality reached "severe zone" for the first time in 2017. However, on 21 October, the volume of air pollutants in the city markedly decreased as strong winds dispersed them.
