Delhi Metro fares increased for the 1st time in 8 years
India
Delhi Metro fares increased for the first time in eight years, which took effect on August 25, 2025.
Most lines saw a ₹1 to ₹4 increase, while the Airport Express Line fares increased by up to ₹5 (depending on distance).
DMRC says this was needed to keep up with rising costs and to maintain service quality.
What are the new fares?
Short trips (0 to 2km) now start at ₹11 instead of ₹10, and the longest rides (over 32km) cost ₹64 instead of ₹60.
Fares for other distances have also gone up by a few rupees each.
Discounted fares on Sundays, national holidays
DMRC is keeping discounted fares on Sundays and national holidays, so you'll pay less if you travel then.
The metro network spans several hundred kilometers and serves hundreds of stations, helping millions get around Delhi every day.
