Delhi's anti-smog plan this winter: Cloud seeding, mist sprayers
Delhi is rolling out a fresh set of moves to fight its infamous winter smog this year.
The big headline? They're testing cloud seeding—basically, trying to make artificial rain to wash away pollution.
Alongside that, the city's using more tech and stricter rules to keep the air clearer when things get bad.
What else is in the plan?
Expect mist sprayers on electric poles, rooftop sprinklers on tall buildings, and anti-smog guns in pollution hotspots.
Starting November 1, commercial vehicles from outside Delhi running on non-clean fuels won't be allowed in—thanks to the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM).
There'll also be regular audits at pollution check centers, making roads pothole-free to reduce dust from vehicular movement, and a push for electric vehicles and massive tree planting.
Experts say these steps help, but real change will need bigger fixes at the source—like tighter controls on factories and construction dust.
