In the wake of heavy rains due to 'Ditwah', which was categorized as a cyclonic storm before being downgraded to a deep depression, all schools and colleges in Chennai, Tiruvallur and Kanchipuram districts will remain closed on December 2. The decision was taken by district authorities as a precautionary measure following weather alerts. District collectors from these areas announced the closure to ensure student safety amid fears of intense rainfall and waterlogging, according to ANI.
