After a month of controversy and anxiety, about 600,000 CBSE Class-12 students across India will write their Economics board exam a second time on Wednesday. The exam, which was originally conducted on March 26, was cancelled by the CBSE after the news of the question paper getting leaked stirred up a storm. It was then rescheduled for April 25. Read on for more.

Important details
Exam to be held at 4,000 centres; foreign students exempted

The exam will be held at 4,000 centres across India. Foreign students have been exempted from the re-test since the leak hasn't impacted their results, the board found in its investigation. Moreover, security measures have been beefed up this time to ensure the CBSE doesn't have to face a national embarrassment once again.

Worries
Students expect tougher question paper

Despite having written the exam once already, students are worried, not about preparation so much as about the question paper being tougher this time. The March 26 paper was easy, but now after the historic leak, they expect it to be no cakewalk. Others, meanwhile, are stressed over the precious time killed in all of this when they should be studying for competitive exams.

Backstory
Economics teacher of DAV, Una leaked the paper

The economics question paper was reportedly leaked by Rakesh Kumar, a teacher at DAV, Una, Himachal Pradesh, three days before the exam. He gave the paper to a student who took private classes from him. In no time, 20 WhatsApp groups across Delhi, Punjab and Haryana knew the questions. Kumar, who had allegedly also leaked Class 10 mathematics paper, was arrested on April 7.
